Job Description

Position Summary

The Office Clerk performs a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to support daily office operations. This role ensures accurate recordkeeping, efficient communication, and smooth workflow within the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and direct phone calls; respond to emails and general inquiries
  • File, scan, and maintain physical and digital records
  • Enter data accurately into spreadsheets, databases, or office systems
  • Sort and distribute mail, deliveries, and internal correspondence
  • Assist with document preparation, copying, and printing
  • Schedule appointments, meetings, and maintain calendars as needed
  • Order and track office supplies and inventory
  • Greet visitors and provide basic information or assistance
  • Support other administrative staff with routine tasks
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Proven ability to perform clerical or administrative tasks
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, email systems)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Professional demeanor and customer-service mindset

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in an office or clerical role
  • Familiarity with office equipment (printers, scanners, fax machines)
  • Basic bookkeeping or data management experience
  • Experience with office management software or databases

Work Environment

  • Office-based setting
  • May require sitting for extended periods
  • Occasional lifting of files or office supplies (typically under 25 lbs)
